Financial Controller

Our client, a healthcare importation business is seeking to recruit a Financial Controller. The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:

• Determining the appropriate allocation of resources across the organization whilst overseeing such activities on a constant basis
• Preparing monthly management accounts including the required reconciliation statements, accruals and prepayments whilst presenting this to the management on a monthly basis
• Gathering a detailed understanding of the operational and commercial aspects of the business and having the ability to interpret financial results and identify areas of concern and investigate accordingly 
• Processing of payroll including any related filings with the relevant authorities
• Submission of VAT and tax returns
• Liaising with auditors with regards to the annual audit 
• Overseeing the overall operation of the finance department 
• Preparation of an annual budget and forecasts as required
• Any other duty which may be required from time to time from the management 

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
• Ability to work under pressure with the ability to meet deadlines
• Possess excellent intrapersonal and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Maltese
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools

Education and Experience

• Fully qualified accountant holding a local warrant
