Accountant

Our client, an Italian shipping Company located in Malta, is looking to recruit an Accountant to join its’ Finance team, reporting to the Deputy CFO.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Maintaining General Ledger entries while conducting reconciliations and in-depth analysis. 
• Skillfully preparing and posting Journal entries, including Prepayments, Accruals, Cost Allocations, and Forex transactions. 
• Overviewing the posting of all Invoices, whether they are Payables or Receivables. 
• Collaborating on the preparation of monthly reports, management accounts and annual Statutory Financial Statements. 
• Assisting in the company's Audit processes. 
• Performing monthly Bank reconciliations. 
• Skillfully crafting reconciliation statements for both Internal and Third-Party entities, which include Customers and Suppliers. 
• Exercising control over and monitoring Cash Flow.
• Skillfully preparing and uploading payment instructions, adhering to company procedures, through the use of the remote banking system.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of accounting background
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly MS Excel
• Familiarity with ShipNet One is an advantageous attribute.
• Exceptional fluency in the English language, both written and spoken
• A highly motivated individual, driven to excel in a challenging work environment.
• A team player with effective communication skills.
• An individual characterized by a high degree of accuracy, reliability, and attention to detail.
• While not essential, knowledge of the shipping sector would be considered a valuable asset.
