Accountant

Our client within the Insurance Industry is looking to recruit an Accountant to join their team.

Main responsibilities :

• Provide technical support for investment accounting and reporting in accordance with IFRS 9, and reinsurance accounting under IFRS 17 & 9. Assist in preparing related analytics, financial statement disclosures, and supporting both internal and external audits.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, and other accounting tasks, including aiding in the production, validation (quality assurance), and analysis of financial data and related statement balances.
• Assist with quarterly closing activities for both internal reporting and external institutions, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Solvency II reporting requirements.
• Contribute to compliance-related tasks within the Finance department, such as updating internal controls, policies, and guidelines.
• Support the development of presentations to help management interpret and assess performance results.
• Handle other general accounting responsibilities in areas such as investments, reinsurance, and treasury operations as assigned.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives as part of ongoing finance transformation efforts.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience working in an Accounting role
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Fluent in business English, with strong communication skills at all levels

Education and Experience

• An ACCA qualification or equivalent
