Accountant

Our client operating within the Investments industry is currently on the lookout for an Accountant to join their growing team. 

Duties include: 

• To assist the Head of Finance on a daily basis in providing the required information to Senior Management
• Responsible for the day to day accounting of some of the branches of the main subsidiary
• Ensure timely and accurate entry of financial data into accounting systems. Regularly analyze and reconcile accounts to assist in month-end and year-end closings
• Actively contribute ideas and solutions to modernize and improve accounting processes, aiming to reduce inefficiencies, minimize errors, and enhance data accuracy
• Assist in the annual budgeting process
• Prepare reports for Middle Management on a monthly basis in terms of actual vs budget spend
• Involvement in Audits for all group companies
• Prepare monthly management accounts for Head of Finance to review before submitting to Senior Management
• Any other day to day tasks for the smooth running of the department.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of local experience, previous experience in audit would be considered as an asset.
• Proficient in English and Maltese
• Shireburn Accounting Software knowledge will be considered an asset
• Proficient in using Excel including formulas such as VLOOKUP

Education and Experience

• In advanced stages or fully qualified through ACCA or similar
