Assistant Financial Controller

A client of ours operating in the hospitality industry is currently recruiting for 2 Assistant Financial Controllers to join the team. 

Duties include:

• Preparing and checking of Management Accounts. Ensuring the balancing of all accounts.
• Point of reference for, postings, adjustments of and reporting from Sage accounting software. Ensuring the accuracy of all charges and credits to the various accounts, and that these are properly entered into the accounting system on a timely basis.
• Accruals and prepayments
• Dealing with staff’s day to day matters.
• Communications with banks and tax authorities. Preparation and compilation of VAT and ECO Tax. 
• Payroll control, payment procedure and postings.
• Handling of all intercompany paperwork.
• Communication with Head Office.
• Liaising with purchasing department for timely processing of invoices.
• Overseeing the general cashier.
• Overseeing the payables function.
• Preparing the monthly payment run, alongside the Accounts Payables Clerk
• Preparation and review of reconciliations; including bank, payroll, intercompany and supplier reconciliations. 
• Carrying out all the work required at the month and year end
• Preparing daily reports, including: Bank Reports, Payroll Reports, Daily Revenue Report (DRR), Creditors and Debtors Reports; other reports as requested by the Finance Manager
• Ensuring that queries and account disputes are clarified by the Finance Manager and responded to immediately.
• Department spot checks and cash counts.
• Completion of surveys.
• Assisting auditors as required by the auditors

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of local experience in an accounting function
• Hospitality experience would be considered as an asset
• Fluency in both written and spoken English

Education and Experience

• Fully qualified through ACCA or similar
