Director of Finance

Our client is a leading company on the Maltese islands. They would like to hire a Director of Finance to lead the finance function.

The Role

• You will oversee the accounting and fiscal functions.
• You will lead a team of 3 people including the payroll team
• You will report into the Managing Director
• You will establish strong accounting processes and systems, promoting continuous improvement and collaboration within the department.
• Your team will prepare management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and ensuring compliance with statutory, fiscal, and corporate requirements. 
• Your team will be analyzing trading performance and shaping the company's financial strategy in collaboration with other departments.
• Developing and empowering the finance team is a critical aspect, ensuring they grow with the company's expanding needs. 
• You will also assess resource needs to maintain a high-performing team. In addition to overseeing financial operations, you will lead financial projects and ensure optimal resource allocation. 
• You will lead a crucial role in guiding the company's financial direction and strategic decision-making.
• You will manage the company payroll

Requirements

• You will be a fully qualified and warranted accountant
• Have vast experience in leading a team
• Have excellent communication skills
• Be a good negotiator
