Financial Controller

  Central Malta  |  €60,000 - €70,000 Annually 

Our client, operating within the catering and retail industry is seeking to recruit a Financial Controller. The selected candidate will have the following responsibilities:

  • Preparing budgets and financial forecasts
  • Reducing costs and improve efficiencies across the board
  • Preparing, monitoring and updating cash flow reports to ensure optimisation of cash in hand
  • Creating document policies and business processes to enhance internal controls
  • Ensuring current quality accounting controls and procedures are in place, in order to have accurate reporting
  • Preparing monthly Management Accounts
  • Analyzing monthly and quarterly Management Accounts
  • Analyzing labor costs with the HR department
  • Preparing audit papers and any requirements needed to close off the financial year
  • Submitting VAT returns in a timely manner
  • Managing and mentoring the finance team
  • Any other duty which may be required from time to time

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years experience working in a similar role locally. Candidates coming from the retail and catering industry will be given preference
  • Hold excellent intrapersonal skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Education and Experience

  • Fully qualified and locally warranted accountant
