Financial Controller

A client of ours operating in the hospitality industry is currently on the lookout for a Financial Controller to join their team.

Duties include: 

• Take a key role in overseeing and managing essential financial functions, including management accounts, budgeting, cost control, payroll reporting and analysis, cash flow management, debtor collections, and creditor payments.
• Develop and enforce financial control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets, minimise risk, and ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Continuously assess internal controls, identify areas for improvement, and implement effective corrective measures.
• Work closely with consultants and external auditors to support audit processes and ensure prompt resolution of audit findings.
• Oversee cash flow management and maintain optimal supplier credit terms to secure favourable purchasing conditions.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, investigate variances, and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing procedures across multiple entities, including account reconciliations and the preparation of accurate financial reports.
• Maintain and enhance financial reporting systems, including accounting software, to improve operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and development opportunities to the finance team, fostering growth and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate across departments such as operations, sales, and quantity surveying to provide financial insights and strategic advice.
• Stay informed about changes in accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of local experience in a financial managerial role
• Able to work under pressure
• Fluency in both written and spoken English
• A proactive, collaborative approach with the confidence to lead and drive change

Education and Experience

• Fully qualified through ACCA or similar
