Financial Controller

Our client operating in the Construction industry is currently on the lookout for a Financial Controller

Main duties include: 

• Managing day-to-day transactions such as postings, reconciliations, receivables and payables, bank payments, deposits, internal data, and other related duties. 
• Preparing management accounts for all companies within the division on a regular basis, and preparing financial statements, including consolidated figures.
• Forecasting for construction projects and managing cash flow. 
• Tracking and allocating direct and indirect job costs to construction projects. 
• Managing, identifying, and reporting any variances in job costs. 
• Preparing, updating, managing, and analysing Work in Progress for various projects, maintaining close communication with Works Managers and Quantity Surveyors. 
• Managing fixed asset depreciation and conducting stock taking. 
• Managing the Purchasing Department 
• Preparing and submitting regulatory returns. 
• Liaising with external auditors during the audit process. 
• Managing relationships with banks, suppliers, and other relevant parties. 
• Compiling various financial reports for both internal and external use. 
• Assisting in specific assignments and projects as directed by management. 
• Providing support and guidance to other team members within the Finance department. 
• Performing any other duties as assigned by management. 

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting. Construction experience would be considered an asset.
• • Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel. Knowledge of Acumatica software will be considered an asset
• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Maltese

Education and Experience

• Fully Qualified through ACCA or similar
