Financial Controller

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our clients' finance team undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing accurate financial statements including month-end reports for management, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, budgets and cash flow statements
• Tracking, reporting, and analysing budget variances 
• Overseeing all financial planning and analysis.
• Recommending changes in policies or procedures that will improve financial performance
• Training and supervising the accounting team and their day to day performance.
• Forecasting future financial performance and finding potential growth for the business.
• Preparing and analysing VAT and tax returns for all companies, ensuring compliance with
  government regulations and assist in auditing of the companies.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensuring accuracy of financial statements
• Utilising updated technologies for their job and recommending changes to improve financial performance.
• Ensuring all departments and companies follow procedures and are in line with their agreed budgets, as well as helping departmental managers stay in line with their targets and budgets.
• Other ad hoc duties as needed from time to time

Requirements

• Previous local experience in a similar role doing up to the preparation of management accounts, budgeting etc
• Fluency in written and spoken Maltese and English
• An adaptable teamplayer
• Previous local managerial experience

Education and Experience

• Fully qualified through ACCA or equivalent
