Our client, a prominent company operating in the Hositality & Retail sector is looking to strengthen their finance team with the addition of a Group Accountant. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operation of some companies within the group.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and handling the day-to-day accounting tasks including monthly reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and other financial reports
- Preparing and filing of VAT returns, Eco Contribution returns and any other statutory reporting required
- Supervise and oversee the work of junior staff members
- Preparing reports for monthly management accounts
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly forecasts
- Monitoring of credit control
- Assist with the annual audit
- Other ad hoc duties as needed from time to time
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of previous local experience in a similar role up until the preparation of management accounts
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles
- Experience using Shireburn Financial Management, Opera PMS and Simphony will be considered an asset but are not essential as full training will be given
- Meticulous individual with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Candidates with a hospitality background will be given preference
Education and Experience
- Candidates pursuing ACCA qualification or equivalent will be given preference but others with more experience will also be considered
