Group Financial Controller

  Central Malta  |  €70,000 - €80,000 Annually 

A client of ours with particular focus and specialisation in the FMCG sector is looking to onboard a Group Financial Controller to join their team of professionals:

Duties

  • Support the Group CFO in aligning financial plans with strategic objectives, also providing actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and support strategic goals.
  • Ensure compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and local statutory requirements.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.
  • Develop and oversee the Group’s annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements as well as management accounts.
  • Provide in-depth performance analysis, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Manage financial systems and data analytics to enhance reporting and decision- making capabilities.
  • Implement robust internal controls and financial policies across the Group.
  • Monitor and manage Group liquidity, cash flow, and working capital requirements.
  • Drive automation and analytics initiatives for real-time financial insights.
  • Optimise treasury operations at Group level, including forex management for international transactions, as well as liquidity and financing costs across the Group.

Requirements

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting will be given strong preference
  • 10+ years in senior group finance roles, including senior management experience in reporting, compliance, and financial systems.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Expertise in financial consolidation, performance management, and treasury functions.
  • Robust knowledge of the Maltese Statutory and Tax regime.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is essential.
  • Must be a Warranted and Chartered Accountant
