Our client within the Insurance industry is looking to recruit a Head of Finance Operations.
Main responsibilities include:
- Overseeing quarterly and annual financial accounting and closing activities, including Balance Sheet and Income Statement analytics for corporate reporting. This covers financial operations and selected group reporting under IFRS standards (including IFRS 17 & 9) for treasury operations, investments, tax, general accounting, and Solvency II Pillar III reporting.
- Leading the execution and maintenance of ECON Group reporting processes, transforming complex financial data into timely corporate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Leading or participating in global and local transformational activities to improve data governance, enhance dashboard reporting, and streamline financial close processes, aiming for automation, integration, and operational synergy.
- Leading and supporting audit activities related to Financial Operations.
- Fostering a culture of respect, integrity, honesty, and authenticity, while promoting team dynamics, organizational alignment, and development.
- Assisting the CFO in strengthening the financial function and implementing strategic initiatives to ensure finance operations are well-prepared for future challenges.
- Utilizing strong written and presentation skills in meetings with management, external auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Handling additional projects as needed.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of post-qualification professional experience in accounting within a (re)insurance company, including some management experience in a permanent role or as a project lead
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Expertise in reinsurance technical accounting, with a preferred background in IFRS 17 & 9, and Solvency II Pillar III
Education and Experience
- University degree in accounting, reporting, and finance, or an equivalent qualification such as ACCA
