Senior Accountant

  Central Malta  |  €40,000 - €50,000 Annually 

Our client within the Insurance Industry is looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their team.

Main responsibilities :

  • Manage IFRS accounting topics, including reinsurance (IFRS 17 & 9), investment accounting, and general accounting matters.
  • Support quarterly closing activities for MR Group, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Solvency II reporting.
  • Prepare financial analysis and commentary for quarterly close and ECON submissions, aligned with IFRS 17 standards.
  • Reconcile IFRS 17 data, perform quality assurance, and address data quality issues with stakeholders.
  • Assist with reporting adjustments (OTAs) and analytics for internal and external reporting.
  • Contribute to compliance tasks, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
  • Prepare presentations for performance reviews and Board meetings.
  • Support audits and financial statements related to reinsurance and other topics.

Requirements

  • Strong technical accounting and reporting capabilities particularly related to reinsurance and investments.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience or more in the Maltese financial industry

Education and Experience

  • An ACCA qualification or equivalent
