Our client, a well established Manufacturing company is looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join their team. This person will be tasked with developing and maintaining accounting processes to consistently deliver accurate and timely financial statements, budgets and forecasts. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of financial activities including coordinating with various banks on the timely issue of guarantees.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the preparation of accurate and timely periodic reports.
- Own the Internal Control process – perform self-assessments and support audits.
- Mentor Finance team members on the company’s policies, financial reporting systems and general ledger structure.
- Monitor and analyze workflows within the Finance function to design and implement more efficient procedures and use of resources.
- Manage the company’s compliance risk status through effective management of statutory deadlines and other obligations (VAT, Tax, NSO, Banking Covenants, Malta Enterprise, insurance valuations, Company Policies etc.)
- Carry out a rigorous review and reconciliation process for the General Ledger and Balance Sheet to ensure a compliant month end close.
- Provide information and compile reports as necessary, on financial performance, financial position, and cash flow of the business.
- Manage cash and banking requirements.
- Forecast cash flow and implement FX hedging.
- Advise on tax and treasury implications of management decisions including the accounting requirements thereof.
- Assist the Sales teams with various requirements in the tendering process for new contracts including coordination of issuing Bank Guarantees as required.
- Other ad hoc duties as required from time to time
Requirements
- Previous local work experience up to the preparation of management accounts and budgets
- Ideally holds previous experience with bank guarantees on an international scale
- Experience in setting up or improving internal control systems – exposure to SOX compliance would be an asset.
- Tech savvy and meticulous
Education and Experience
- Ideally fully qualified but candidates in the last stages of ACCA with solid experience will also be considered
