Our client, in the education industry, is looking to employ a Staff Accountant to work closely with the Assistant Finance Manager to ensure the efficient financial management of their assigned region.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support the annual audit process, ensuring accurate preparation and timely assistance to facilitate a smooth and successful audit.
- Prepare monthly management accounts for regional centers, covering journal entries, analysis, and commentary for both Adult and Head Office entities.
- Compile monthly Head Office Group reports.
- Analyze revenue and expense lines in the P&L, collaborating with department heads and Center managers to identify risks and opportunities.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
- Prepare and file VAT and Intrastat returns.
- Generate and analyze revenue and volume reports from internal IT systems to support financial analysis and decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, including cash flow projections, for the region's centers.
- Monitor cash allocations and prepare related documentation.
- Provide support to the Accounts Payable team when required.
- Handle additional ad-hoc tasks as they arise.

Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Proven experience in a similar accounting role.
- Strong communication skills and commercial awareness.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve results.
- Familiarity with Sage X3 and DataRails is considered an advantage
Education and Experience
- Actively studying or part-qualified accountant
