One of our top clients specialising in the FMCG and Manufacturing industry is currently looking to onboard a Head of M&A to join their team; The designated person will be responsible for driving the Group’s growth strategy through the identification, evaluation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures:
Duties:
- Partner with the CEO, CFO, and Board to assess and refine M&A priorities and investment goals.
- Oversee the identification and prioritisation of acquisition targets by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage early-stage conversations and establish relationships with potential targets, investment banks, intermediaries and other external parties as relevant.
- Define and execute the Group’s M&A strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term corporate objectives.
- Continuously evaluate market trends, industry shifts, and competitor activity to identify strategic opportunities.
- Lead all aspects of deal execution, including structuring, financial analysis, and negotiation.
- Work with external advisors (legal, financial, tax) to ensure robust evaluation and risk mitigation.
- Secure internal approvals by preparing and presenting detailed recommendations to the Board
- Direct and coordinate due diligence efforts, ensuring a thorough assessment of financial, operational, legal, and cultural aspects, also leading due diligence discussions to assess acquisition feasibility and ROI.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, HR, IT, and other internal teams to uncover and evaluate risks and validate assumptions.
- Develop post-acquisition integration strategies that ensure alignment with the with the Group’s processes, culture, and strategic objectives.
- Build and lead a high-performing M&A team, providing mentorship and fostering collaboration.
- Act as a central point of coordination between internal functions and external advisors to ensure seamless execution.
- Oversee and report to the Board on the achievement of expected synergies, cost savings, and overall ROI.
Requirements
- Proven track record in managing large-scale, complex strategic transactions and post-merger integrations.
- 12+ years in corporate finance, investment banking, or M&A, including leadership experience preferably in a group environment
- Strong track record in financial due diligence, valuation, and integration management.
Education and Experience
- Applicants holding an MBA or CFA qualification will be given preference
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Business
