Senior Sustainability Analyst

Are you passionate about sustainability and ESG strategy? Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a Senior ESG Analyst to join their high-performing Sustainability Department. This role is perfect for someone with a strategic mindset, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to drive ESG initiatives across a dynamic banking environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the continuous development and implementation of the Bank’s long-term ESG strategy, working closely with the Head of Sustainability to ensure it remains forward-thinking, effective, and well-supported by a solid business rationale.
• Oversee the ESG Programme tracker, ensuring it accurately reflects progress and aligns with the Bank’s strategic ESG goals when reporting to the Executive Committee.
• Work alongside the Regulatory Compliance team to help the Sustainability Department fulfill regulatory ESG reporting obligations, including CSRD, EU taxonomy, and SFDR requirements.
• Manage the coordination and preparation of the ESG report, guaranteeing timely and high-quality submissions.
• Supervise the collection and reporting of the Bank’s Scope 1-3 carbon emissions, ensuring completeness and accuracy in operational data.
• Assist the Head of Sustainability in developing ESG-related content, including thought leadership pieces relevant to sustainability in financial services.
• Organize and oversee logistics for specialized ESG working groups led by Senior Management, ensuring their activities align with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
• Lead the execution of key ESG projects aimed at achieving long-term sustainability goals, ensuring they are delivered on time and generate meaningful impact.
• Assist in the preparations of the Department’s plan and underlying budgets. From time to time there may participation in special projects under the instruction of the Chief Strategy Officer and/or the Head of Sustainability.

Salary package will be allocated according to one's background and experience in the field.

Requirements

• A passion and understanding of ESG principles and their application in the financial services sector and/or the economy with a specific focus on Malta
• Strong Analytical skills, with the ability to interpret regulatory requirements and sustainability data.
• Experience in working on strategic initiatives within financial services or within a consultancy environment.
• Fluency in written and spoken English

Education and Experience

• In possession of a relevant university degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
