Operations & Husbandry Officer

We are searching for highly organized individuals to join our client's team and manage the shipping operations and husbandry of relevant vessels. In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Coordinating with other departments, Shipping Line and Principals to ensure that all necessary supplies and equipment are available for the vessels
• Liaising with port authorities, customs officials, and other relevant personnel to ensure that all necessary regulations are met
• Monitoring and managing the vessel’s fuel and water levels, as well as the vessel’s inventory
• Scheduling, registration of vessels with Port Authorities and updating vessels’ estimated time of arrival/departure and berthing.
• Coordinating and liaising with the Port Terminals and Service Providers prior and during port operations.
• Monitoring and managing the vessel’s budget and expenses
• Reporting of container status to Shipping Line and respective shipping agents.

Requirements

• Candidates must already be based in Malta, with the legal right to work in Malta
• Excellent command in both Maltese AND English
• Proficiency in MS Office
• A team player, flexible and able to adapt to changing working conditions
• Team-spirited, with eagerness to learn & grow in the shipping industry

Education and Experience

• O' Level Standard of Education as a minimum
• Prior experience in administration, a similar role, or within the Shipping/Maritime industry is a must
• Candidates with a passion in the shipping/maritime industry will be given preference
