Our client is seeking to recruit for a QC Compliance Analyst. Reporting to the Compliance Manager, as a Compliance Analyst in the 2nd line Compliance Team the primary function is to protect the company from exposure to money laundering and support the 1st line, specifically in regards to onboarding clients by providing AML guidance and advice. The role entails conducting quality assurance on the compliance framework applied by other teams, including Onboarding KYC, Onboarding EDD and Transaction Monitoring.
Duties include:
- Conducting real-time review of account KYC (QC) conducted by the Onboarding Team to ensure in compliance with internal policy and regulatory requirements
- Conducting monthly review (QA) of a % of accounts onboarded for each risk classification against the KYC policy to ensure adequate oversight
- Conducting monthly review (QA) of ongoing and transactions monitoring alerts actioned by the screening team to ensure compliance with internal and external standards
- Conducting monthly review (QA) of regulated partners (fund administrators, corporate service providers and fund managers) to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
- Act as an escalation point for problem solving of team members within the onboarding team.
- Conduct risk event driven reviews for Risk Committee where necessary
- Ensure oversight of the periodic reviews to hold the KYC refresh team accountable to timeframes and working per policy.
- Involvement in the development of new systems for KYC efficiency.
- Involvement in the delivery of compliance projects ensuring technical excellence and a practical, business driven approach,
- stay updated by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
- Work closely with the Compliance Manager and MLRO to identify any major issues in relation to compliance and account KYC / transaction monitoring
- Drafting and updating standard operating procedures where necessary.
• Reporting policy breaches.
Requirements
- a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in AML, KYC, and CDD, with an emphasis on handling complex structures.
- Experience within the financial services industry is required.
- Experience within the funds industry would be an asset
