Receptionist

  Central Malta  |  starting from €18,000 Annually 

Our client, running an exquisite Boutique Hotel, is looking to recruit a Receptionist to join their growing team. The chosen candidate will:

  • Operate the 24-hour hotel reception to agreed standards.
  • Manage check-in/check-out processes, ensuring rooms are prepared as advertised and liaising with housekeeping and F&B teams for room readiness.
  • Handle guest queries and complaints with professionalism, aiming for guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain a daily handover log, recording comments, complaints, and requests for action.
  • Log and report guest-lost property incidents.
  • Keep reception, public areas, F&B outlets, stores, back office, and staff areas clean and orderly.
  • Monitor and control public area conditions, including heating, lighting, and audiovisual settings.
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks in bedrooms and public areas, reporting issues promptly.
  • Operate the bar and restaurant to meet hotel standards.
  • Upsell products and services to maximize revenue.
  • Secure and handle hotel finances in line with cash-handling policies.
  • Balance financial records at the end of each shift.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to minimize service disruptions.
  • Attend and contribute to daily team and departmental meetings.
  • Participate in ongoing training and seminars to enhance knowledge and efficiency.
  • Adhere to company policies, including fire safety, health & safety, food hygiene, and security.
  • Provide efficient and friendly service to guests while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Portray the company values in all interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Be punctual and accurately record attendance for all shifts.
  • Proactively seek to improve hotel operations and contribute sales leads.
  • Perform ad hoc tasks as directed by management.
  • Adopt a flexible work schedule to ensure uninterrupted guest service.
  • Understand and comply with hotel fire procedures to ensure safety for all.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate a “can-do” attitude at all times.

Education and Experience

  • Recent experience in the same role within a Hotel setting is a must.
  • Must be locally based, holding 2-3 years of experience in Malta
