Data Scientist

A well-established company in the industry is seeking a passionate Data Scientist to uncover insights from data and transform them into actionable strategies. In this role, you will take full ownership of data and collaborate closely with the IT Manager. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and maintaining databases and data systems.
• Collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing data from various sources.
• Automating data collection and processing pipelines.
• Ensuring data integrity and security.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, operations, HR, and finance, to address their data needs and deliver data-driven solutions.
• Performing exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Developing, validating, and deploying predictive models and machine learning algorithms.
• Continuously monitoring and refining models to improve accuracy and effectiveness.
• Presenting complex data analyses and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Proposing and implementing new methodologies and technologies to enhance data analysis processes.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a similar field.
• The ability to take on the data department, take ownership and work closely with head of departmetns to provide suggestions to work in a more efficient manner.
• Experience working with data visualization tool such as Power BI or similar.
• Experience working on programming languages such as Python and SQL.
• Proficiency in machine learning frameworks.
• Ability to stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI.
• Candidate must be already based in Malta.

Education and Experience

• A Degree or Masters in Computer Science would be ideal.
