Junior Structural Engineer

Our client is looking for a Junior Structural Engineer to join their team and contribute to the design and development of diverse structural projects. 

Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the selected candidate will gain hands-on experience in structural analysis, design, and project execution while supporting innovative engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the structural design and analysis of various projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
  • Apply knowledge of reinforced concrete, steel structures, masonry (stone and concrete block), timber, and glass elements in design projects.
  • Perform shorthand structural analysis and design calculations manually.
  • Utilise structural analysis and design software efficiently to support engineering tasks.
  • Collaborate with project teams to create precise engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive structural documentation and design reports.
  • Participate in project discussions, offering input on design strategies and construction techniques.
  • Conduct site visits and structural inspections to gather necessary data for design modifications.
  • Stay informed about advancements in structural engineering, materials, and construction technologies.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  • Maintain organized project records and documentation throughout all stages of development.
  • Communicate effectively in both Maltese and English, ensuring clear documentation and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from the University of Malta or an equivalent qualification.
  • Strong foundation in structural engineering principles and design methodologies.
  • Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
  • Analytical thinking with excellent problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Maltese and English.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
  • Previous experience in structural engineering is beneficial but not a requirement for entry-level candidates.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from the University of Malta or an equivalent qualification.
