We are looking for a highly organised Marine Operations Manager with a good all-round understanding of marine engineering, mechanical and electrical, including project management.
Responsibilities:
- To ensure adequate forward planning is provided for all projects
- To lead the group of workers under his responsibility, through their respective Supervisor, to carry out the work assigned to them to the required quality standard, efficiently and according to the company’s Health and Safety regulations.
- Act as project Manager for boats/projects on the hard and on slips as required
- Manage all onsite/onboard risks
- Manage subcontractors on projects under his responsibility
- Maintenance and upkeep of the yard infrastructure
- Maintenance and upkeep of mobile and fixed plant used for operations in the yard
- Technical assistance in procurement
- Assist in evaluating jobs for quoting purposes
- Assist in the invoicing procedure on projects under his responsibility
- Compile technical reports when required
- Improve planning of work and drive efficiency in all day-to-day yard activities
- Manage activities and team in order to reach performance targets (KPIs) regarding production and maintenance
- Establish all documentation in regard to the company's policy for technical aspects
Requirements:
- Must have experience working on boats up to 50 metres
- Having a good understanding of marine engineering, mechanical and electrical project management
- Having approximately 5 years of supervisory/management experience in a similar environment
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- A relevant engineering/technical qualification
