Our client is looking for a Process &/or Quality Engineer to join their team. This person will ensure that manufactured products meet the agreed quality standards, develop quality systems, train personnel, and drive product and process improvements through continuous improvement activities, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the implementer and champion of APQP processes.
- Develop and update Process FMEAs, ensuring a focus on preventive measures during job planning.
- Create risk mitigation plans based on RPNs and propose process improvements to lower these risks.
- Design and enhance quality systems, introduce quality gates to minimize process waste, and safeguard customer satisfaction.
- Apply and improve lean manufacturing principles on the shop floor, striving for right-first-time production and achieving Build-in-Quality Level 4.
- Support projects aimed at meeting BIQ cost targets and generating savings.
- Work towards achieving a 6-sigma quality level where applicable.
- Address external customer complaints and manage effective communication with customers outside the factory.
- Lead QRQC sessions to identify causes of customer dissatisfaction and internal complaints, ensuring effective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Motivate and lead subordinates, providing coaching aligned with the business strategy as needed.
- Assist the Quality Manager in investigations and resolve outstanding Process Quality issues.
- Collaborate across departments to compile CoPQ data and implement actions to reduce or eliminate these costs.
- Facilitate on-line and off-line problem-solving sessions, promoting a zero-defect culture.
- Analyze statistical data to identify opportunities to improve Built-in-Quality costs.
- Assist in developing product and process audit plans.
Skills & Requirements
- Possess a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent in a related field
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing practices and lean processes
- Understanding of product development process requirements
- Demonstrated competencies in all aspects of project management
- Excellent communication skills and a team player
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- 3 years of experience in a similar role
