Quality Engineer

  South of Malta  |  €28,000 - €34,000 Annually 

Our client a leading manufacturing company, is looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their growing team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the chosen candidate will:

  • Oversee the development and deployment of AQPF across all operations.
  • Develop and implement a structured approach for Key Characteristics management within the New Product Development (NPD) process at the Malta Plant, with further deployment at the Group level.
  • Establish and manage Control Plans methodology at the Malta Plant and extend its application across the Group.
  • Act as the primary contact for quality-related matters with Customers during product launches and provide support for Sources.
  • Lead product validation activities, prepare and submit Quality Manuals to Customers, and support Sources.
  • Ensure smooth transition of projects from Development to Operations post Customer sign-off.
  • Develop new test methods, implement them at the Malta Plant, and facilitate their adoption across the Group.
  • Oversee Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Gauge R&R studies at the Malta Plant.
  • Manage the calibration of all measurement instruments and gauges.
  • Organize sorting and field service actions as needed.
  • Lead resolution of quality issues during Development, collect Best Practices and provide support for Sources.
  • Drive the development of clear and effective product specifications.
  • Oversee Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming for new products and implement necessary modifications.
  • Define and approve Decision Review Boards (DRBs) and Change Review Boards (CRBs) at the product launch stage.
  • Develop and implement IBB control processes.
  • Lead the resolution of development-related claims, coordinate 8D processes, and maintain communication with Customers.
  • Implement Change Management processes at the Malta Plant and extend them across the Group

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Strong communcation and coordination skills
  • Manufacturing local experience

Education and Experience

  • Possess an education at MQF level 6 or higher in Engineering
  • Sound knowledge of quality principles, practices and procedures
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in Injection Moulding is preferable, but not necessary
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills to deal with both local and foreign suppliers and customers
