A prestigious law firm is looking to recruit an AML & Compliance Assistant. Working within the Shipping Department, the selected candidate will act as a liaison between the lawyers and advisors in the Shipping and the Compliance team by being responsible for the following duties:
- running KYC and AML checks on new clients at onboarding stage
- completing the customer profile on the KYCP Portal in liaison with the relationship lawyer
- completing the relevant job forms as instructed by the lawyers / advisors
- obtaining the relevant letters of engagement from customers
- collating the relevant CDD in accordance with the CDD manual
- conducting screenings on customers (both corporate & natural persons) and intermediaries
- applying the necessary escalations when required and reporting to the Compliance Officer
- Reviewing CDD documentation
- Constantly liaise with the Compliance team and following up on any AML measures as suggested by them
Requirements
- Previous local compliance experience in a similar position
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
