The Operations Manager will oversee, manage, and coordinate the daily operational activities for M&E projects within construction sites. This role will ensure effective and efficient project delivery, maintaining high standards of quality and safety while staying within project timelines and budgets.
Responsibilities:
Project Management
- Oversee planning, scheduling, and execution of M&E projects, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to maintain smooth workflow and efficient resource allocation.
Operational Oversight
- Develop, implement, and refine operational processes to enhance project efficiency and quality.
- Manage inventory and supply chain requirements, ensuring timely availability of materials and equipment.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, providing recommendations for cost-saving measures where applicable.
Project Financial Accountability
- Ensure that Project is on Track Budget vs. Actual Cost
- Claims are in line with Progress
- Cash Exposure is within Contract specification and Company Policy.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop project teams, promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular team meetings, communicate company goals, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
- Provide performance feedback and develop action plans to address performance gaps.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Ensure all projects adhere to company quality standards and regulatory requirements, including health and safety policies.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets the required technical and safety standards.
- Work with Quality Assurance teams to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and resolution of any project-related issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and government authorities, to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and repeat business.
Risk Management
- Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to address operational challenges.
- Ensure that contingency plans are in place and updated regularly to handle unexpected changes in project scope or resources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in operations management within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on M&E projects.
- Proven track record of successful project delivery, including budget and timeline management.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, construction practices, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to make strategic decisions under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
