One of our client within the manufacturing industry is seeking to employ Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
Responsible to lead the team to investigate OHS and Environmental near misses, incidents, and accidents.
Support the risk assessment process, including documentation and review.
Ensure the site adheres to ISO security procedures, Health and Safety laws, Environmental regulations, and customer-specific compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, 22301).
Oversee the maintenance and development of safety, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
Implement and audit systems that protect the health, safety, and well-being of employees, visitors, and contractors, while reducing environmental impact.
Manage various risk assessment programs (e.g., machinery, manual handling, COSHH, fire safety).
Provide advice to the Plant Manager on HSE compliance matters.
Advise on and organize relevant H&S training to minimize risks and support employee development.
Coordinate and chair HSE Committee meetings and contribute to departmental meetings and inspections.
Collaborate with Head Office and external agencies to secure specialist HSE support.
Ensure H&S standards are upheld through equipment reviews and audits.
Lead HSE-related projects and process improvements.
Drive initiatives to maintain ISO certifications and required permits.
Identify and execute sustainability improvements across the site.
Oversee HSE budgets and manage CAPEX projects.
Requirements
NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
NEBOSH National Diploma in Environmental Management
Experience in managing Health and Safety within a manufacturing environment is considered an asset
Excellent communication skills in both Maltese and English
