Head Chef

One of our leading clients within the hospitality industry are currently looking for an experienced and creative Head Chef to lead their kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, cost control, team leadership, and ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. This is a hands-on role for a culinary professional who is passionate about quality, innovation, and creating memorable dining experiences.

Duties:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient service;
  • Plan and develop innovative menus that reflect the concept and meet customer expectations;
  • Monitor food preparation and presentation to maintain high standards of quality and consistency;
  • Control food and labour costs, manage budgets, and monitor stock levels to minimize waste;
  • Train, supervise, and motivate kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive team environment;
  • Consistently achieving monthly targets in alignment with company policies and objectives;
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations (HACCP and local legislation);
  • Collaborate with restaurant management to align culinary offerings with overall business goals;
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-equipped kitchen at all times;
  • Stay updated on industry trends, seasonal ingredients, and modern cooking techniques.

Requirements

  • Proven local experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment within an à la carte restaurant;
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities with excellent communication skills;
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for food and innovation;
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices;
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in English

Education and Experience

  • Hold a certification in culinary skills;
  • Possess a valid Food handler’s license.
