HR and Payroll Manager

  Central Malta

Our client is looking for an HR and Payroll Manager. Your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with recruitment by posting job openings, reviewing resumes and scheduling interviews
  • Handle the onboarding process for new employees, including completing paperwork setting up employee records and applying for their work permits.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HR systems
  • Support payroll processing and benefits administration
  • Prepare monthly payroll journals for monthly ledger posting.
  • Manage all employee's tax returns, social security reports and all other payroll-related government reporting and submissions.
  • Coordinate training and development programs for employees
  • Assist with performance management processes, tracking performance reviews and employee evaluations
  • Handle administrative tasks such as organizing meetings, managing calendars, and handling correspondence
  • Support general HR functions, employee relations, compliance, and policies implementation
  • Act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Requirements

  • Knowledge of payroll software
  • Having a strong business initiative is a must
  • Being able to work on own initiative and manage the team

Education and Experience

  • 2–3 years experience in a previous role or similar
  • Knowledge of Maltese payroll procedures and employment law
