Learning and Development Manager

  South of Malta  |  starting from €45,000 Annually 

Our client, within the Aviation industry, is looking to recruit a Learning and Development Manager to join their growing team. 

Reporting to the Organizational Development Manager the chosen candidate will:

  • Lead the Group’s Learning & Development strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, processes, and procedures.
  • Conduct comprehensive training needs analysis across teams and professional groups to identify skills gaps.
  • Work with stakeholders to create action plans that address skills, capabilities, and competency gaps in the workforce.
  • Develop and oversee the execution of the Group’s annual training and development program based on strategic business needs.
  • Design and implement career paths and growth programs to support talent attraction, development, and retention strategies.
  • Coordinate and review e-learning and traditional training materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
  • Deliver and facilitate learning sessions, both on-site and virtually, for various employee groups.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of digital platforms such as HRIS and learning management systems.
  • Define and monitor talent-related objectives and KPIs to act as a business enabler in collaboration with the organizational development team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with SMEs, managers, and teams across all levels, both internally and externally within the Challenge Group.
  • Prepare, control, and ensure the effective utilization of the training and development budget.
  • Contribute to the design, administration, and implementation of the performance review process, advising management as needed.
  • Provide coaching on career planning, performance review, training, and development.
  • Actively participate in the design and implementation of a group-wide succession planning process.
  • Recommend and support the development of geographical learning coordinators.
  • Monitor, measure, and assess the progress and impact of training programs, collecting feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Research, prepare, and submit funding applications to relevant EU programs, ensuring compliance with eligibility criteria to secure financial support for training initiatives.
  • Prepare reports as required by the Group Organizational Development Leader.

Requirements

  • Creative approach and excellent ability to convey visual messages through the construction of presentations and other tools.
  • Leading projects remotely.
  • Process-oriented and methodical.
  • Excellent communication, and presentation skills
  • Enthusiastic, resourceful, problem-solver, highly analytical, and independent yet a team player.

Education and Experience

  • A 3 to 5 years’ experience leading a learning and development, organization function/department in a fast paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development / HR/ Information Science / Knowledge Management / Adult Education and Training
  • Experience from global companies will be considered as an advantage.
  • Strong familiarity and hands-on experience with learning methods, practices, tools, and platforms.
  • Experience in e-learning material, tools ,platforms and establishment of group level learning and development structure.
  • Excellent English fluency - verbal and written.
