Claims Handler (All levels)

Our client, operating within the insurance sector, is seeking to recruit a Claims Handler to join their team of growing professionals.   

Responsibilities: 

• Advise clients on the claim process and steps involved.
• Process new insurance claim notifications.
• Gather accurate information and required documents to proceed with claims.
• Assess claims to determine if they meet policy conditions.
• Guide policyholders through the claim process.
• Identify reasons for partial or non-payment of claims.
• Clearly explain to policyholders when their claim is not covered.
• Coordinate with external experts from our approved network to assist in claims.
• Track and monitor the progress of claims.
• Investigate claims that may involve fraud.
• Work with legal professionals and other experts to negotiate claim terms.
• Provide an initial cost estimate and monitor expenses, maintaining detailed cost records.
• Ensure fair settlement of valid claims.
• Ensure excellent customer service and that clients are treated fairly, adhering to industry and company standards.
• Address and resolve complaints related to claims.
• Comply with legal requirements, industry regulations, and company quality standards.

Requirements

• At least 1-3 years of experience in the insurance industry, particularly with personal and commercial lines products would be ideal.
• Written, spoken and good communication skills in Maltese and English
• Conversant with Microsoft Office
• Negotiation, communication and time management skills
• Ready to work under pressure with minimum supervision

Education and Experience

• Minimum of secondary level of education
• An Insurance related qualification will be considered an asset
