Advocate

  Central Malta  |  €28,000 - €30,000 Annually 

The client, a boutique law firm specializing in maritime law, providing tailored legal services to a diverse range of clients within the shipping, logistics, and maritime industries, are seeking a motivated and diligent Advocate to join their team. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and support to clients in matters related to maritime law,
  • including ship registration, financing, and charter agreements.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal
  • documents.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support cases and prepare opinions.
  •  Stay updated on local and international maritime regulations and developments.
  •  Collaborate with colleagues on diverse issues and provide support in business development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Ideally the candidate has 1-3 years of experience in legal practice, with exposure to maritime law considered an asset.
  • Strong academic background in law, with a specialization or interest in maritime or commercial law.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and drafting skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in English is required, with proficiency in Maltese or another language being an advantage.

Education and Experience

  • A valid warrant to practice law in Malta.
