Our well-established client is seeking to recruit for a Senior Legal Officer to join their team. You would be focused on the fintech space. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the regulatory landscape for digital finance, contributing to innovative and impactful Fintech solutions
Duties include:
- Coordinate and support the development and execution of regulatory initiatives related to Fintech Supervision.
- Provide regulatory and legal guidance, including research, legal reviews, and drafting relevant documents as needed.
- Act independently within delegated authority, escalating matters outside of your scope to senior management.
- Advise the Fintech Supervision function, as well as other internal functions and external authorities, on regulatory and legal issues.
- Contribute to policy development on regulatory matters, ensuring consistent application of local and European legislation.
- Represent the organization in local, EU, and international forums, including European Supervisory Authorities’ committees and working groups.
- Champion digital finance and FinTech initiatives, promoting innovation and regulatory excellence within the organization.
Requirements
- Proven experience in regulatory, legal, or compliance roles, with a focus on Fintech or digital finance.
- Strong understanding of local, European, and international financial regulations.
- Experience drafting legal documents, providing regulatory advice, and conducting research.
- n-depth knowledge of the digital finance landscape, including emerging Fintech trends.
- Candidates must hold around 5 years of working experience in a similar role
Education and Experience
- We are looking for candidates with solid academic background which may be considered as relevant to this post. The role calls for an academic qualification in a relevant field of study at National Qualification Framework Level 6 or better, duly certified by the Malta Qualifications Recognition Information Centre (MQRIC) or a widely recognised professional qualification at a comparable level.
