Area Sales Manager

  Central Malta  |  €38,000 - €40,000 Annually 

Our Client, one of the leading companies in Malta are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to join their team as an Area Sales Manager. Reporting to the Key Account Manager you will be responsible for driving sales performance and overseeing operations to meet distribution, volume, and revenue goals within their assigned territory.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Mentor and support Sales Representatives to meet targets through regular field visits and coaching.
  • Drive sales volume, distribution, and revenue targets across all brands.
  • Actively support sales representatives in the field, identifying growth opportunities with existing and new clients.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, negotiating mutually beneficial commercial terms.
  • Ensure proper execution of commercial strategies, including product placement and promotions in all outlets.
  • Maintain visibility of sales numbers and territory performance, providing reports to the Senior Territory Manager.
  • Foster a results-driven culture, providing support to sales reps in overcoming challenges.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as Marketing and Operations, for seamless promotion execution and stock management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of local experience in a sales management role within FMCG industry is a must
  • Hold an excellent level of written and verbal English
  • Proven ability to manage and coach a sales team, consistently achieving targets through effective leadership.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, commercial negotiations, and relationship management, with the ability to negotiate terms that enhance profitability.
  • Competence in analysing sales data and trends, providing actionable insights to improve performance.
  • Willingness to spend time in the field, leading by example and guiding during client visits.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-oriented environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, capable of building relationships and influencing outcomes.
