Our client, whose operations focus on raw materials for building services, is seeking a Plant Operations Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Help oversee daily operations of silos and plant facilities.
- Coordinate and plan plant activities in collaboration with sales and credit control departments.
- Manage fleet operations, bowser loading, and stock handling.
- Aid in unloading operations of incoming vessels.
- Provide daily reports on plant operations, stock levels, and maintenance.
- Maintain plant facilities as needed.
- Ensure shop floor organization, plant facility upkeep, and promote health and safety practices.
- Maintain Company vehicles.
- Support the plant manager.
- Assist with miscellaneous tasks as required.
Requirements
- Problem solving skills and demonstrated initiative in identifying areas of opportunity
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate
- A self-starter lead who takes responsibility for quality of results and requires minimal supervision
- Able to work flexible hours and during weekends when necessary
Education and Experience
- Previous experience working within a seaport
- Able to drive a forklift and small heavy vehicles
- A relevant educational qualification
