Job Description

The Registration Officer works under the coordination of the Greek authorities (Reception and Identification Service) in performing some or all of the following tasks: 

• Support RIS in the registration of applications for international protection lodged by third country nationals or stateless persons in the context of the reception and identification procedures in CCACs and RICs, in accordance with the legal framework and the relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);

• Support RIS in the daily and long-term planning and scheduling of registration activities, ensuring prioritisation of vulnerable cases;  

• Support RIS in designing, implementing, reviewing and adjusting an effective registration workflow in accordance with the local set-up and adjusted to local needs and arrival flows; 

• Liaise with RIS to receive updates about new arrivals and cases assigned for registration;

• Support RIS in the communication with other stakeholders (e.g. Hellenic Police, FRONTEX, EODY, Asylum Service) for the effective coordination of the registration activities;

• Support RIS in the organisation and coordination of interpretation support for registration activities;

• Acting as team leader of the Registration Assistants deployed by EUAA, coordinate the efficient daily implementation of different steps within the registration process;

• Acting as team leader of the Registration Assistants deployed by EUAA, provide support and guidance to the team of Registration Assistants deployed by EUAA and perform quality control in the implementation of registrations of applications for international protection, aiming at enhancing productivity and quality of the registration process; 

• If appointed, act as focal point and liaison with the Greek Asylum Service for the planning and scheduling of asylum interviews and communication for any other issue;

• If appointed, act as focal point and liaison with the National Dublin Unit for the management and follow-up of potential Dublin cases;

• Upon agreement between EUAA and RIS, perform the tasks of a registration assistant for limited period of time, in case of urgent needs; 

• Attend regular meetings with EUAA at national or local level, as requested;

• Participate in trainings organised by EUAA or other stakeholders at national or local level, as requested;

• Be available to participate in missions, as per the operational needs of EUAA; 

• Provide to EUAA regular analytical and statistical reports on the support provided, the challenges and good practices identified;

• Provide any other support to RIS relevant to the role and tasks in the context of the registration of applications for international protection, in prior agreement with EUAA.

Requirements

• University degree is required;

• Post-graduate degree will be considered an advantage;

• Demonstrated previous experience in relevant tasks;

• Fluency in Greek and English (oral and written);

• Computer literacy, including MS Office applications (Word, Excel), use of internet and web-based applications;

• Very good intercultural/interdisciplinary communication skills;

• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills;

• Ability to work under pressure.
