Inkmill Process Lead

  South of Malta  |  €30,000 - €37,000 Annually 

Our client operating in manufacturing is looking for an Inkmill Process Lead, responsible for the SSQCDP management and process improvements within the prepress departments with specific focus on printing press service requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the divisional leadership team in implementing the strategy for Currency, particularly regarding Central Bank and Security Features/Polymer offerings.
  • Provide expert insights to support decision-making and contribute to the annual strategic planning process.
  • Adhere to and promote governance and operational standards across the division.
  • Lead SSQCDP management using the shop floor management system.
  • Oversee job ink procurement, logistics, and planning, including monitoring ink formulations and consumption across all divisions.
  • Manage work-in-progress (WIP) ink stock and ensure stock turnover aligns with set targets.
  • Facilitate team-driven continuous improvement initiatives to enhance integration and collaboration.
  • Ensure ink quality analysis capabilities are sufficient to meet operational demands.
  • Develop and refine Quality Control Processes (QCPs) within Prepress operations to improve efficiency and analytical capabilities.
  • Regularly update and improve standard operating procedures, FMEAs, and control plans, including organizing retraining as necessary.
  • Apply and uphold principles of Lean Manufacturing, including 5S and Kaizen methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Technical expertise, either through education or practical experience.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance practices and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with continuous improvement techniques, particularly Lean Manufacturing.
  • Proven track record in people management.
  • Experience in the security printing industry is an advantage.
  • Excellent skills in technical reporting and presentations.
