Dangerous Goods Manager

Our client is looking to recruit a Dangerous Goods Manager to join their growing team. Reporting to the Grounds manager, the person chosen will:

  • Conduct regular audits of all airport service providers within the CAC network stations, focusing on Cargo Handling Agents.
  • Perform thorough evaluations of the Cargo Department’s performance and adherence to service quality standards;
  • Compile detailed audit reports and present findings to the Ground Operations Manager;
  • Suggest corrective actions based on audit findings to improve service quality and operational efficiency;
  • Assess and refine work procedures for Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) expediting workflow;
  • Implement strategies to enhance the efficiency of staff and processes handling dangerous goods;
  • Provide technical information and support to facilitate the activities of the Ground Operations Department;
  • Ensure all operations comply with relevant regulations and standards;
  • Evaluate staff performance regularly to identify areas for improvement;
  • Develop and implement training programs aimed at enhancing employee efficiency and fostering a positive attitude towards the Ground Operations Department's objectives;
  • Coordinate and conduct training sessions on DGR and related matters for the CAC Department staff;
  • Prepare comprehensive reports on Dangerous Goods accidents or incidents;
  • Handle incidents effectively, ensuring all safety protocols and procedures are followed;
  • Ensure the availability of special cargo documents and labels at all times
  • Maintain thorough records of all operations and audits for compliance and reference purposes;
  • Undertake any other duties related to the job as assigned by supervisors;
  • Ensure a qualified deputy is appointed to carry out duties in case of absence.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in dangerous goods management or a related field within the aviation industry is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, Safety Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Hold DG instructor certification according to IATA standard.
  • Additional safety or hazardous materials certifications are a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of Aviation dangerous goods regulations and best practices.
