Director of Sales

  Central Malta  |  €50,000 - €55,000 Annually 

Core Sales and Strategic Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement overall sales strategies and annual budgets, ensuring alignment with the hotel's goals.
  • Regularly forecast performance, analyze results, and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Set targets and objectives for the sales team while fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities, monitor market trends, and track competitor performance.
  • Provide pricing strategy support and approve sales expenditures.
  • Maintain and grow the hotel’s client database.

Team Leadership and Operations

  • Build and lead effective teams through communication, training, and motivation.
  • Conduct appraisals, manage holiday planning, and ensure the team has the necessary tools to succeed.
  • Organize and lead sales meetings and evaluate the team’s performance regularly.
  • Monitor the execution of sales strategies and develop learning points from past performance.

Revenue and Performance Monitoring

  • Oversee selling strategies and adjust as necessary to maximize revenue.
  • Optimize digital revenue through campaigns (e.g., GDS, SEO).
  • Identify high and low availability periods to adapt sales approaches proactively.
  • Monitor competitor strategies and adjust the hotel's positioning accordingly.

Conference and Events

  • Implement and review selling strategies for events.
  • Track conversion rates and mystery shop results, taking corrective action when necessary.

Health, Safety, and Confidentiality

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information regarding the hotel, guests, and employees.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations, reporting any hazards, defects, or incidents promptly.
  • Attend mandatory training in Fire, Health, and Safety protocols.
  • This role ensures the hotel's revenue goals are met through innovative strategies, strong team leadership, and a commitment to excellence in sales and safety standards.

Education and Experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role for at least 3 years.
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel setting
