Our client within the FMCG Industry is looking for a Product Manager to join their dynamic team.
The Product Manager will hold the overall responsibility for the assigned Product Categories, focusing on maintaining and improving profit margins, identifying market trends and shopper behavior, and enhancing product offerings. Working closely with the Supplier Relationship Manager, the Product Manager will be the one to introduce new products and brands while phasing out outdated items to ensure the optimal product mix reaches the end consumer. The role also involves managing and coordinating projects related to product promotions, the effective use of promotional spaces and shelving, and activation of both products and promotions. This includes regular communication and collaboration with suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Gather market and shopper insights through visits to the outlets and competitor locations.
- Maintain and grow average margins by item group by ensuring current products meet established standards and new products align accordingly.
- Oversee product assortment and listing via the web portal, including the delisting of underperforming products to drive revenue and profitability.
- Continuously review products within assigned Item Groups and Categories to ensure optimal selection for each outlet location.
- Identify products requiring updates or reclassification (e.g., brand, department), and coordinate with the data team to implement changes promptly.
- Collaborate with fellow Product Managers, the Marketing Team, Operations, and other stakeholders to develop communication tools that support the smooth execution of projects and initiatives.
- Select promotional products and coordinate related activities with Marketing and Operations, including scheduling, promotional leaflet participation, in-store activation (e.g., bancarelle, promotional shelving), and ensuring timely stock availability through early notice to Store Managers.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in line with business needs.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of local direct experience within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Maltese and English language is a must.
- Familiarity with analytical tools such as Cube and Power BI is considered an asset.
- Possession of a valid driving license.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a mature and assertive approach.
- Genuine interest in the FMCG sector and in building and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
