Shop Assistant

  Central Malta  |  up to €18,000 Annually 

A vacancy for the post of Shop Assistant has arisen within a beverage retail establishment. Reporting to the Retail Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will provide assistance and excellent customer service to the customers that visit the outlet while ensuring that the shop is maintained up to the established standards at all times.

Responsibilities:

  • The upkeep of the shop including maintaining clean displays, unpacking, re-shelving and storing of stock as well as coordination of received deliveries;
  • Operating the till and accurately handling cash, cheques and credit/debit card transactions;
  • Responding to orders received through the online shop by processing sales and packaging orders;
  • Assisting with regular and annual stock checks.

Requirements:

  • Have proven working experience as a retail cashier or in sales; candidates with beverage experience in the hospitality industry are also encouraged to apply.
  • Have basic computer knowledge and familiarity with electronic equipment (e.g. cash register, scanners, money counters etc);
  • Have strong communication and time management skills;
  • Be customer satisfaction-oriented;
  • Have attention to detail and mathematical skills.

Beer and wine knowledge will be considered favourably.

Shop Opening Hours: (40 hours on Roster Basis)

Monday - Friday: 9:00 - 19:00

Saturday: 9:00 - 16:00
