BI Operations Engineer

  Central Malta

Our client is looking for an experienced BI Operations Engineer to join their team and help build and maintain their Business Intelligence solutions. 

In this role, you will play a critical part in monitoring and maintaining our data pipelines and ensuring the efficient operation of our Microsoft SQL Server-based data warehouse. You will collaborate with data engineers and analysts to uphold data quality, troubleshoot issues, and manage incidents.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Ensure seamless data flow from various sources to the data warehouse by overseeing data quality and pipeline performance.
  • Address escalated issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions.
  • Partner with data engineers and analysts to support data-related initiatives and projects. 
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to guarantee data availability and timely resolution of issues.

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about ensuring data reliability and operational excellence in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
 

Requirements

  • Expertise in SQL, ETL tools, and data warehouse technologies and cloud databases
  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and database management.
  • Previous experience in a second-level support role or similar, with a focus on data engineering or database systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
