IT Operations Manager

Our client in the transport industry is looking to bring in an IT Operations Manager to ensure the smooth functioning of all IT systems, networks and operations within the organisation.

What you'll be doing

• Infrastructure Management - Manage the planning, deployment, and upkeep of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software systems.
• IT Support Coordination - Lead the service desk operations by ensuring efficient handling of technical issues, timely incident resolution, and responsive support for users and employees.
• Team Management - Supervise a team of IT professionals by offering direction, mentorship, and support. Delegate responsibilities effectively to align team efforts with organizational goals.
• Vendor Relations - Partner with external vendors to procure hardware, software, and services. Handle contract negotiations and maintain productive vendor relationships.
• Operational Optimization - Develop strategies to enhance the efficiency of IT operations, streamline workflows, and boost overall system performance.
• Security Management - Safeguard IT systems through the implementation of strong security protocols, routine audits, and continuous monitoring of emerging threats and solutions.
• Budget and resource allocations - Oversee the IT budget and allocate resources strategically to ensure cost-effective operations while meeting business requirements.
• Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity - Design and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize disruptions and protect organizational data during crises.
• Communication and Collaboration - Promote clear communication and cooperation between IT and other departments to understand technology needs and align IT initiatives with broader business objectives.

Requirements

• Excellent managerial skills
• Proficiency in IT infrastructure, networking, security and cloud technologies
• Experience with system installation, configuration and analysis is a plus
• Must have local work experience and be in Malta

Education and Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related field
