Assistant Maintenance Manager (Hospitality)

  North of Malta  |  €38,000 - €42,000 Annually 

A well-established client of ours operating within Hospitality, is searching for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join their Engineering team. The chosen person will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of all facilities and equipment, in line with Company and legal standards. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, responsibilities include the below:

  • Assist the Maintenance Manager in planning, coordinating, and supervising all maintenance activities within the hotel premises
  • Hire, Train and coach Team members under the direction of property operations including all technical and maintenance team members in order to ensure optimal team performance
  • Conduct walk through and visually assess the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structures of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment
  • Assigns and verifies completion of all routine maintenance on public spaces, meeting rooms, ballrooms, outlets, back of the house spaces and grounds. 
  • Assigns and verifies completion of all repairs, replacement, and renovation projects to offices and Team Member work areas
  • Coordinate and prioritize repair and maintenance requests from various departments, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to hotel operations
  • Maintains effective energy management and preventive maintenance programs, conducting special training for other operating departments on the safe and efficient use of equipment and energy in the hotel
  • Implement and use various technologies such as Synergy and Light stay in order to remain complaint with brand requirements
  • Closely monitor all utility usage and develop systems to report on usage by location and/or department, occupancy and event
  • Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to introduce new technologies to improve performance, minimise utility costs and reduce waste so as to achieve and exceed company targets
  • Ensure all Fire-Life Safety equipment and systems are fully operational, tested and certified
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment inventory, and maintenance schedules
  • Work in close liaison with the Building Maintenance Manager to achieve all Hotel Operational and other targets.
  • Participate fully in all stages of in-house and external projects

Requirements

  • Strong Technical knowledge of building systems, mechanical equipment and maintenance techniques
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
  • Proficiency in the use of technology and in using maintenance managements software preferably synergy
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols, including OSHA standards

Education and Experience

  • Qualification on Electrical Licence A is muat; preferably Licence B as well
  • Minimum of three years’ local experience in maintenance operations is a must
  • Any candidates with experience within hotel or hospitality environment are highly desired
  • A diploma level of education or equivalent in engineering, facilities management or a related field would be a plus
