Landscaper (Outdoor)

• Ability to Follow Instructions – Interpret and execute both written and verbal directives from supervisors and clients with accuracy and efficiency.
• Planting & Landscape Installation – Carry out the planting of flowers, trees, shrubs, grass, and hedges while ensuring proper placement and care.
• Garden & Lawn Maintenance – Perform routine upkeep, including mowing, edging, pruning, raking, and weed control to maintain aesthetic appeal and health.
• Irrigation & Fertilization – Apply watering techniques and fertilizers as necessary to promote healthy plant growth and sustainability.
• Installation of Outdoor Systems – Set up and maintain irrigation systems, sprinkler systems, and outdoor lighting solutions.
• Hardscape Construction & Renovation – Build, restore, and enhance stone pathways, patios, and structural landscape elements.
• Equipment & Tool Management – Safely load, unload, and operate landscaping tools and machinery, including tractors, mowers, and leaf blowers.
• Worksite Transportation – Operate company vehicles to transport equipment and personnel to and from job sites.
• Safety & Compliance – Adhere to all safety regulations and best practices to ensure a secure work environment.
• Landscape Consultation & Advisory – Offer insights and recommendations for the long-term care, maintenance, and enhancement of outdoor spaces.
• Industry Awareness & Development – Stay informed about emerging trends, products, and innovations to maintain a leading edge in the landscaping sector.

Requirements

• Knowledge of horticulture methods and materials, landscaping and cultivation of trees and plants is an asset
• Knowledge of plant diseases and their cure
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade
• Ability to perform grounds maintenance tasks
• Skill in interpreting and completing landscape plans
• Knowledge of fertilizer and/or pesticide applications
• Passion for plants
• Problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects
• Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures
