Our client, a leading company in the pharmaceutical industry, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Supply Chain Officer to join their team. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers as required
- Manage and resolve supplier-related issues, including delays and quality concerns
- Escalate critical issues to senior management when necessary
- Create and process purchase orders based on approved requisitions and MRP
- Maintain and update supplier documents in SAP regularly
- Monitor workflows in SAP and ensure timely completion of purchasing info records
- Assist with system deviations and corrective actions
- Generate and submit requested reports
- Process non-stock purchase orders based on templates or quotations
- Confirm and record goods receipts
- Issue and manage purchase orders for CMOs, ensuring price accuracy
- Process PO receipts upon goods confirmation
Requirements
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Serve as a backup for the Purchasing Coordinator during absences, focusing primarily on related tasks
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Skilled in multitasking and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
- Confident and proactive in executing responsibilities
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills
- Work closely with the Supply Chain department and coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless communication
Education and Experience
- A diploma or Advanced Level education, along with experience in the Supply Chain sector
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Maltese is an asset
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, knowledge of GDP, and/or familiarity with SAP are considered advantageous
