Distribution and Logistics Manager

The Distribution and Logistics Manager is responsible for managing the entire journey of finished goods—from planning production needs to ensuring goods are stored, picked, and delivered on time. This role includes managing cold storage, fulfilling orders, and handling any customer issues after sales to keep inventory levels balanced, reduce costs, and meet customer needs efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Forecast production needs based on sales data and trends to maintain adequate inventory.
  • Coordinate with production and sales teams on inventory levels and adjust for demand fluctuations.
  • Oversee the distribution process from warehouse to point of sale, ensuring accurate, timely deliveries.
  • Manage transport routes and logistics for cost-efficient and effective delivery.
  • Monitor stock, conduct regular counts, and work with production on replenishment needs.
  • Oversee the complete sales order cycle, coordinating across departments to prevent delays.
  • Collaborate with quality, sales, and service teams to meet customer-specific requirements.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Establish metrics for performance in distribution, warehousing, and customer service.
  • Generate reports on stock levels, fulfillment rates, costs, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the entire supply chain, from forecasting and production to distribution and after-sales service.
  • Lead and coach teams in sales, distribution, and customer care.
  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure cost-effective allocation of resources.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in distribution, logistics, or supply chain management, ideally in FMCG or dairy.
  • Strong expertise in inventory management, cold storage logistics, and distribution planning.
  •  A Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or equivalent is preferred
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills focused on customer satisfaction and improvement.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Maltese
  • Skilled in data analysis, trend forecasting, and decision-making for supply chain optimization.
  • Detail-oriented in inventory, order, and cold storage management.
