Our client in the stone industry is seeking a meticulous Inventory Manager/Storekeeper to oversee stock and materials within their workshop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing inventory, processing materials, and ensuring efficient operations related to stone cutting, material receiving, and consumables tracking. The roles and responsibilities will include:
- Inventory Management - Maintain accurate stock records, ensuring all materials are correctly logged, stored, and accounted for.
- Cutting & Processing - Oversee the slab-cutting process to maximise material efficiency while keeping detailed records of off-cuts for future use.
- Receiving & Quality Control - Inspect incoming materials to verify quantity and quality, cross-checking them against invoices before updating inventory systems.
- Workshop Coordination - Possess a strong understanding of workshop operations to provide teams with precise information on cutting requirements and available stock.
- Material Measurement & Marking - Accurately measure and mark materials for cutting, ensuring proper documentation to streamline workshop processes.
- Invoice Verification & Record-Keeping - Check supplier invoices for accuracy and update stock records accordingly.
- Consumables Management - Monitor and maintain supplies of tools and consumables, ensuring timely reordering to prevent shortages.
- Stock Optimisation & Utilisation - Improve material usage by coordinating with the workshop to determine cutting priorities and systematically marking remaining pieces for reuse.
Requirements
- Experience in inventory management, storekeeping, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of natural stone materials and cutting processes is highly preferred.
- Ability to measure and assess materials accurately.
- Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software or willingness to learn.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
